Why book with Mother Continent Explorers
Our travel styles, exactly how the booking process works, real trip stories, who we work with on the ground, and how to get a quote.
Our Travel Styles
Every itinerary we plan falls into one of these styles. Pick the one closest to what you want, and we will refine it from there.
Gorilla Trekking
Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo, permit secured before you pay.
Wildlife Safaris
Savannah game drives across Uganda, Tanzania and Namibia.

Direct community encounters, led by South Sudan's tribal tour.
Luxury Safaris
Any itinerary, rebuilt around premium lodges and private guides.
Honeymoon Safaris
Shorter treks and beach endings, built for two.
Multi-Country Safaris

Our Guest Stories
A sample of the trips we have planned recently. We are collecting full guest reviews to publish here, so treat these as illustrative for now.
A honeymoon gorilla trek
A couple combined a 4 day Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey trek with three nights in Kigali, timing the permit for their fifth wedding anniversary.
A three generation family safari
Grandparents, parents and children joined a 7 day Uganda wildlife safari, with the itinerary adjusted around the youngest traveler's nap schedule.
A solo multi-country trek
A solo traveler crossed from Uganda into Rwanda on our 10 day gorilla, chimp and wildlife safari, joining a small group for both treks.
Our Partners
Every itinerary runs through the same small set of relationships, not a rotating list of subcontractors.
Wildlife authorities
We book permits directly with the Uganda Wildlife Authority, Rwanda Development Board, and DR Congo's park authorities.
Community linked lodges
Properties like Rushaga Gorilla Lodge and Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, owned by or invested in the communities bordering the parks.
Specialist ground partners
Vetted local operators in DR Congo, Chad, Angola, Somaliland and South Sudan, for the itineraries we do not run ourselves end to end.
